In September 2024, access management company Apono reached out to me with an interest in exploring and developing a fun and engaging booklet for their upcoming conferences. After some discussion and discovering a shared love for comics and cyberpunk aesthetics, we settled upon “The Cloud City Chronicles” as our avenue of entertaining information packaging.

Starting with Issue 2, the team at Apono allowed me much more creative control with the world we had originally developed, yet barely scratch the surface of. Working with friend and fellow Boston artist Kosta Gregory, we redesigned and expanded the world from the ground up, with revamped character designs, a more fleshed out and lived in digital world, and with an aesthetic that is both futuristic and inspired by the likes of Star Wars, Cyberpunk 2077, and Tron, handcrafted with a human touch for a saga told in a world of AI Agents.

In a space that can be as visually homogeneous as cyber security and DevOps, developing a series of takeaway products, trade show booths, and banners that were as memorable and as interesting visually as they were informative was a key goal in developing this series for and with Apono.
