Run The Jewels 2

LIE, CHEAT, STEAL, WIN.

In 2020, I started a personal series of animations centered around animating album covers. I’m a big fan of Run The Jewels (el-p and Killer Mike), and their second album “Run the Jewels 2” lent itself perfectly to animation, both in its visual design (original artwork by Nicholas Gazin), and its cartoonish, balls-to-the-walls insanity of the duo’s wordplay and production. It’s a chaotic good time. Animated in Adobe Animate.

After posting this to social media, the animation exploded and was picked up and reposted across all of RTJ’s socials in May 2020.
